Taylor joined Oakley Family Law and our team of dedicated family lawyers in June 2024. With a background in civil litigation, Aboriginal law, and family law, Taylor brings valuable experience to the firm and our clients. She is a proud member of Keeseekoose First Nation located in Treaty 4 territory.

Taylor earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2022, where she received prestigious awards including the Advocates’ Society Indigenous Rights Award and the Native Women’s Association of Canada Helen Bassett Commemorative Award. She also completed the Native Law Centre Summer Program and holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a concentration in Law/Legal Studies from Carleton University, which she received in 2019.

Coming from a family of six, Taylor values community and support, which influences her professional dedication and empathy towards her clients. Beyond work, she is an avid traveller, having explored 56 countries across 5 continents. In her spare time, you can find her reading, playing board games with her husband, hanging out with her family and friends or planning her next adventure!

Community Involvement

Active in her community, Taylor contributes to the Association of Women Lawyers Calgary and the Women’s Centre of Calgary. She has held leadership roles as Vice President of External Relations for the Indigenous Law Students Association and has provided pro bono advocacy through Pro Bono Students Canada.

I’d be an English teacher overseas.

What is the most adventurous thing you've ever done?

Skydiving! It seemed like a great way to get over my fear of heights.

So many! Poland, Albania, Vietnam, and Portugal were all amazing!
