Junior Family Lawyer
Oakley Family Law is looking for a junior family lawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate should be an active member of the Law Society of Alberta, who enjoys working with a friendly and collaborative team and loves dogs.
Responsibilities
You will be assisting a family lawyer who is a 6-year call with a very busy practice. Responsibilities will include drafting of pleadings, correspondence, and disclosure; communicating and meeting with clients; and attending Court. This is an opportunity to receive true mentorship by being this lawyer’s “right hand” and work on high conflict litigation files involving parties of all socioeconomic backgrounds. This lawyer works primarily in-office and will need her associate to do the same.
Qualifications
- Called to the Alberta Bar
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be highly organized
- Strong time management skills
- Exceptional Microsoft Office and Adobe skills
- Knowledge of Clio an asset
Compensation
- Salary with bonus

Articling Students
Please note that we are not currently in a position to accept articling students. However, you may be interested in the Juris Doctor Experiential Training Program by Oakley Family Law (JET x OFL).
JET x OFL is a new internship program we are pleased to offer recent JD graduates who may be considering family law as their preferred practice area. This is a three-month internship designed to provide law school graduates, who are not yet articling, interesting and valuable opportunities to shadow experienced family lawyers. Created in the name of our Director of Barketing, and embodying his spirit of making everyone feel welcome and comfortable, JET x OFL has been designed with the mission of helping future lawyers in Alberta find fulfilling careers in family law.
