Every family law file starts with a consultation.
Not just a meet and greet.
We are pleased to offer an initial one hour in-person or video consultation with a lawyer for $200 (including GST). Additional meetings are priced at the lawyer’s normal hourly rate. Free 30-minute consultations are available for estate planning clients. One-hour consultations are available for qualified and approved Legal Aid clients for $125 plus GST. Kindly note that we are not in a position to sign any form of Agreement during a consultation.
The idea of going to a lawyer stresses me out.
If you opt to come into the firm, you don’t have to worry about downtown traffic or parking. We’re easy to find in Calgary’s Southeast (near Deerfoot Casino, just look for the big orange sign on the road). We have free parking directly in front of the building and there is a bus stop just a few steps away.
You will be met by our Client Coordinator upon arrival and guided into our office by one of our friendly legal assistants. Whether you meet with one of our experienced family lawyers in their office or in a board room, you will feel right at home. Barrier free access and dog cuddles included. And please feel free to wear your sweatpants. This is a no-judgment zone.
What happens at a consultation?
During the consultation you and your lawyer will discuss the history of your matter, as well as what some of your goals and interests are. Once we have identified your objectives, your lawyer will provide you with a summary overview of the relevant law. We will then provide you with advice tailored to any particular questions you identified as part of your intake process with our Client Coordinator, or any that you have thought of during our meeting.
